Mockingbird Lane - Pilot

Mockingbird Lane
Seems like a nice family.

It has been a while since I wrote something here but that is because of studies that I have had to do. This time it is the pilot of Mockingbird Lane that I will write about.

Mockingbird Lane

Mockingbird Lane is a re-imagining of “The Munsters” as a one hour drama. The pilot is about Grandpa Sam Dracula, he was the one that assembled Herman the husband of his daughter the vampire Lily. Marilyn is the niece of Lily and is considered as the freak in the family as she is normal. Lily and Herman’s son Eddie has started to hit puberty and surfacing tendencies as a werewolf  is starting and that forces the family to relocate to 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

Do you want to have a cuddle with that thing?

I like the things that Bryan Fuller has been doing and this pilot did have his touch. The pilot was an interesting take on “The Munsters” without just doing a modern version of it. I liked the modern twists, it was witty and the actors did a really good work, also I really liked the way they styled the characters, for example Herman's big scars.

Even though I kind of thought it was slightly ridiculous, I could see a lot of potential in the pilot and I really wish the NBC would have seen that too and it's a shame that they didn't pick it up, hopefully someone other out there as seen the potential of the pilot and picks it up and makes Mockingbird Lane into a TV-series. I would really enjoy seeing it evolve into something great!

The score: 3

(Obviously, I don't own the pictures all the credits goes to the maker and owner of them).
